What to know

Most of the time the Taiga has sharp, waxy, small leaves to repel snow, because it is cold (big surprise).
Right now, for all you know, the are only moose, birds, and insects. (Of course that is all of the animal). Anyways, there are mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, wolves, bears, fish, rabbits, lynx, squirrels, other small predators, and owls (even though they technically are birds.)

Because of the harsh winters and not a lot of decomposers, the Taiga has a lot of decaying matter on it, yet still thin, and can't support large trees. Generally organic matter is good, but since the cold temperatures, it is very poor.
